Scientists have demonstrated: too little humidity in indoor air increases the risk of coronavirus infection

Who had even heard of ‘aerosols’ a year ago? It is now clear that these long-living infectious particles floating in the air are responsible for the majority of Corona infections. The renowned aerosol specialist Prof. Dr. Alfred Wiedensohler from the Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research (TROPOS) in Leipzig warns that “in cold and temperate climates, the indoor climate is usually very dry during the heating season. This could promote the spread of coronaviruses”. This is because at higher air humidity, the droplets grow faster and fall to the ground earlier, and can therefore be inhaled less by healthy people.

Coronavirus: VW is ramping up production even further, with mouth and nose protectors back on the production line

After a five week shutdown, Volkswagen are starting auto production again. In order to ensure the safety of their employees, VW are implementing stricter hygiene standards and strict distancing rules. In areas where distances of 1.5 metres are not possible, workers must wear a mouth and nose protector. The car manufacturer’s suppliers, who make components such as cockpits or cable harnesses, can also breathe a sigh of relief thanks to the restart. And here, just like with VW, our offer of packs of 50 Single Use Mouth and Nose Masks are running off the assembly line just in time!

With the growing number of corona patients, the need for mobile isolation wards and hygienically optimal treatment areas in hospitals and emergency facilities is increasing

The increasing number of corona patients worldwide and the equally sharp rise in the number of suspected cases is forcing hospitals every day to expand the capacity of their own corona isolation wards and ventilation capacities at full speed. As far as space and personnel permit, hospitals are therefore separating entire building sections for the isolated treatment of corona patients, although here too it is foreseeable that this number of beds will sooner or later be insufficient if the rate of infection continues to increase.

Corona virus: germ-free room air in supermarkets and pharmacies – thanks to TAC air purifiers with H14 virus filtering

Supermarkets and pharmacies are among the few facilities still open in the new Corona era. Because the risks of infection literally coincide at these places – and are also constantly increasing with the growing number of infected people – special precautions should be taken there to protect employees and customers. Studies have shown that SARS CoV-2 viruses that have been coughing up can remain in the air for up to 3 hours. Corona virus: sterile indoor air in fitness studios and therapy rooms – thanks to TAC air purifiers with H14 virus filtering

The managers of fitness studios know about the odour-intensive vapours of the sweating body just as well as physiotherapists. Sometimes even taking a breath becomes a difficult exercise. All the more reason to avoid polluting the air in these rooms with suspended particles such as dust, nitrogen oxides and formaldehydes. Above all, however, with pathogens such as viruses and bacteria. Studies have shown that coughing up SARS-CoV-2 viruses remain in the air for up to 3 hours. Corona virus: sterile indoor air in offices and public facilities thanks to TAC air purifier with H14 virus filtering

Those who are responsible for personnel in the office and in public institutions help decide who can or must stay at home and who is considered indispensable. The risk of infection by corona viruses is growing for those employees with compulsory presence in accordance with the size of the office or an increase in visitors. This makes the protection of your employees all the more urgent – studies show that coughed up SARS-CoV-2 viruses can remain in the air for up to 3 hours.  Find out more on our homepage under ‘Applications‘ about effective solutions for air pollution control in offices or public facilities: the TAC air purifiers with H14 virus filtering!

Corona virus: germ-free room air in doctors’ surgeries – thanks to TAC air purifiers with H14 virus filtering

As a physician, you and your employees carry a particularly high risk of infection when dealing with patients due to the highly infectious corona virus. Although the direct risk seems to be controllable by wearing professional respiratory masks and protective clothing, the risk of infection is still very high. But what about the protection of your patients? After all, studies show that coughed up SARS-CoV-2 viruses remain in the air for up to 3 hours. Trotec privacy screens protect a person’s individual privacy when accommodating and taking care of corona patients in field hospitals, hospitals and emergency centres

All over the world, hospitals and clinics are preparing for an increasing number of patients who are infected with the novel coronavirus and require inpatient treatment and intensive care. Entire building tracts are thus cleared, for example, and designated as covid isolation stations with separate admission areas in order to separate the flows of patients coming in. However, many hospitals are already working at maximum capacity now so that gymnasiums, underground car parks, event locations, barracks and sometimes even entire sport stadiums are summarily converted into field hospitals.

Ventilation systems in buildings make sufficient humidification difficult

Many lives could be saved each year by reducing infection with the flu virus or with the new corona virus, SARS-CoV-2. For example, hospitals, public utilities and even the facilities management of large office blocks could maintain a room air humidity in the scientifically recommended range of 40 to 60%. In modern building complexes, you can usually not even open the windows to let fresh and therefore humid air in.

Coronavirus: Humidifiers now important in summer too!

Can spring and warm summer temperatures stop the virus’ spread? Meteorological experts are predicting new record heat for summer 2020. This is based on the numbers coming from the British “Met Office” weather service.  Accordingly, extreme heat is to dominate the year. Forecasts say that constant temperatures over 40 degrees are expected across Europe in summer. This forecast should have drops of sweat running down the faces of many by now.  A new drought would pose a serious problem for the agricultural and forestry sectors. But does the heat have an advantage in the fight against the coronavirus (Covid-19)?
