With the growing number of corona patients, the need for mobile isolation wards and hygienically optimal treatment areas in hospitals and emergency facilities is increasing

The increasing number of corona patients worldwide and the equally sharp rise in the number of suspected cases is forcing hospitals every day to expand the capacity of their own corona isolation wards and ventilation capacities at full speed. As far as space and personnel permit, hospitals are therefore separating entire building sections for the isolated treatment of corona patients, although here too it is foreseeable that this number of beds will sooner or later be insufficient if the rate of infection continues to increase.

With this knowledge and out of necessity, hospitals and local authorities are expanding their capacities in many places with the help of provisionally equipped corona hospitals, some of which are erected in large tent constructions directly in front of the hospital, but also in currently unused school sports halls, barracks, district hospitals and similar facilities.

Although makeshift hospitals and emergency shelters offer sufficient space and bed capacity, they cannot solve a very serious problem

The flow of patients, at times enormous, cannot be supplied and treated in the same differentiated way as would be possible in a hospital, for example. Due to local conditions, it is just as impossible to provide physically separate care for suspected cases in isolation wards and quarantine patients in care areas as it is to provide treatment appropriate to the differently pronounced symptoms of the disease.

The poor general air quality in makeshift hospitals makes it difficult to provide patient care in line with requirements and poses additional risks for patients at risk

This is aggravated by the often inadequate air quality within the military hospitals, which does not meet medical requirements in any way and thus also severely limits the treatment options. If, for example, the health of a patient deteriorates so severely within a very short period of time that intensive medical care with respiratory technology becomes necessary, this life-saving treatment in a provisionally equipped military hospital can only take place under hygienically questionable conditions.

Trotec supply tents with HEPA air purification create virus-free working and treatment areas in hospitals, emergency shelters and isolation wards

Trotec offers shielded or treatment tents with air purifiers and H14 virus filters (HEPA) in order to create hygienically perfect care and supply areas in emergency shelters and makeshift hospitals and also to reduce the risk of infection for medical personnel. Professional TAC air purifiers with H14 particulate filters create a different pressure atmosphere in the supply tent (over- or under-pressure atmosphere depending on requirements), which is important to prevent viruses from entering the tent and at the same time reduce the proportion of airborne viruses in the tent to a minimum, ideally to zero.

Spatially delimited isolation tents with HEPA particulate filters create hygienically perfect supply rooms for immunocompromised high-risk patients.

Furthermore, these tents, which are supplied with sterile and virus-free air, are recommended as ultra-mobile isolation tents within a large-capacity hospital for the protection of immunocompromised patients. This makes it possible to quickly and flexibly create individually shielded areas with ventilation technology in order to react immediately to a life-threatening course of disease of patients whose condition requires a hygienically perfect supply environment.

Effective filtering of corona viruses with a degree of transmission of ≤ 0,005 %

Due to their effective degree of separation, the high-performance filters of the H14 class used in the insulation tents are used, for example, to produce clean air in operating theatres. A degree of separation of 99.995% means that of every 100,000 particles of suspended matter that pass through an H14 filter, 99,995 are retained by the filter; only 5 particles pass through the filter.

Trotec tents with TAC air cleaners and H14 virus filters are suitable as:
