NEW PHDS 11-20V Cordless hammer drill– for powerful hammer drilling!

Whoever has so far doubted the skill of cordless tools for hammer drilling will finally see reason, as the new PHDS 11-20V cordless hammer drill demonstrates the enormous power that hides in a 20 volt premium battery. Thanks to its versatile performance, our new professional tool is the universal solution for practically all drilling or screwing work in the house, garden or garage – from loft conversions and wall cupboard assembly to kitchen fitting.

Whether it be demanding hammer drilling in hard brickwork or smooth drilling in delicate softwood, the PHDS 11-20V effortlessly drills and screws with a maximum torque of 40 Nm and a frequency of up to 26,400 min-1 in wood, metal, brickwork and concrete. Its robust 2-speed metal gears and its continuously variable speed control allow for force adjustment at any time, whenever you require. In this respect, the 20 torque settings, plus a drilling setting and an additional hammer drilling setting, make the PHDS 11-20V the master of versatility for all your applications.

How it works

PHDS 11-20V is powered by an impressive 20 V Flexpower series replaceable battery. Thanks to its lithium ion technology, the battery has no memory-effect and no self-drain and it can be recharged within an hour using the quick charger that comes with the device. In addition, the battery ensures a long device life with its charging capacity of 2 Ah.

Furthermore, the quick-action drill chuck allows you to quickly change screw or drill attachments, while at the same time the automatic spindle lock offers greater safety thanks to higher tool clamping forces. You can use all conventional screwdriver bits, bit holders and drill bits with a shaft diameter of up to 13 mm.

Even when it comes to occupational safety, no-one can get one over on our new cordless hammer drill: it is equipped with a quickstop-overrun brake and power-on lock which prevents it from being switched on accidentally. The additional handle that comes with the device can be variably mounted on the left-hand and right-hand side, ensuring accurate drill guidance. The long-lasting PHDS 11-20V always ensures a secure grip for effortless use over long periods thanks to its ergonomic design with an optimised centre of gravity and soft-grip inlays. And an integrated LED light ensures you will always have a clear, well-lit view of your work area even where there is no space for a work light. The cordless hammer drill can also be attached and carried using the supplied belt clip for faster access.

Four of the numerous advantages that I particularly like:

  • the strong, 20 V lithium ion battery – with no memory-effect and no self-drain
  • the Flexpower multi battery – which can be flexibly combined even with other cordless tools
  • the powerful motor with 2-speed gears
  • the 20 torque settings plus drilling setting and additional hammer drilling setting.

    1. Dear Michael Foley,

Memory effect, also known as battery effect, lazy battery effect, or battery memory, is an effect observed in nickel-cadmium and nickel–metal hydride rechargeable batteries that causes them to hold less charge. It describes the situation in which nickel-cadmium batteries gradually lose their maximum energy capacity if they are repeatedly recharged after being only partially discharged. The battery appears to “remember” the smaller capacity.
