A new study by America’s Yale University proves a connection between low humidity and the spread of influenza viruses. The study conducted by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health substantiates a cause-effect relationship between humidity and the infectivity of coughed-up viruses – and everything seems to suggest that the same applies to the coronavirus as well. In the fight against the spread of the coronavirus SARS CoV-2, communities and authorities worldwide are faced with the challenge of testing the daily increasing number of suspected cases, reducing the still high risk of infection within the community and effectively breaking the infection chains. This mammoth task is made more difficult by the fact that hospitals and doctors’ surgeries in many places are working to capacity – and the necessary structures and materials for mobile corona test stations and makeshift hospitals are simply not available.
