We are now making our homes better with powerful garden pumps and efficient domestic water supply systems

At the moment, many people with gardens and houses are relaxing to the max on their patios. But soon trees and bushes will need to be watered again every day. Many people will then start looking back on last summer, on the extensive watering and increasing water costs. Isn’t it advisable to use free service water? Even for your house too! All you need is a pond or fountain or a cistern – as well as a garden pump or domestic water supply systems. And where can you get both of these in professional brand quality?

Exactly!

Do you have a pond or fountain, a cistern or flowing water? Then the Trotec TGP series garden pumps are your best option to not only make daily watering easier but also to make it significantly cheaper. Simply by making use of free service water instead of expensive drinking water. That means, if you want to only water the garden with service or rain water, a garden pump such as the TGP 1000 E from Trotec is the best solution.

If you want to also use service water for your domestic supply as well as for watering the garden, for example for flushing toilets, cleaning tasks, or for the washing machine, then the purchase of a domestic water work from our TGP series, for example the TGP 1025 E. It allows you to easily feed service water into your existing domestic water supply network, saving around 50% of the costs of your average water consumption based on a 3-person household!

How does a garden pump actually work?

With a garden pump like the TGP 1000 E from Trotec, water can be conveyed from one place to another. You can water trees and lawns with it, and also siphon off excess water, to avoid plants drowning in the case of flooding, for example. It is also known as a flow pump, as it contains an impeller which is driven by nozzles and which creates a strong vacuum. This produces a strong current and a suction power which makes it possible to siphon water. The garden pump must be connected to a suitable power source and a suitable suction hose with coupling must be connected to the pump. It is advisable to use a hose with a non-return valve or to procure a non-return valve if this is not included in the garden pump set.

What to note when buying a garden pump

Garden pumps need not be expensive, as demonstrated by the TGP 1000 E brand-quality pump from Trotec. What’s much more important is the performance, although: more does not automatically mean more. A shallow well does not require as much power as a deeper well, which ultimately requires a larger pump. The right extraction height can be put to better use when it is clear how far the distance is between the water surface and water outlet. The usual flow rate of an irrigation pump is between 2,000 and 4,000 litres and the extraction height is generally estimated between 7 and 9 metres. For example, to pump a pool dry with a garden pump, a suction height of 6 or 7 metres is sufficient. Garden pumps can of course also be used for sprinkler systems.

Pay attention to overload protection and accessories when buying

An overload protection should be integrated into every garden pump, just as in all Trotec TGP-series models. If the device overheats, it shuts down automatically to avoid damage. Another factor when buying is accessories. For most garden pumps, the necessary small parts such as connection adapters and fastenings for the hose are included in the product packaging.

Garden pump and water supply system – what is the difference?

With your own domestic water supply system like the TGP 1025 E from Trotec, you can ensure a sufficient water supply and become more independent from your city’s water supply. Wherever drinking water quality is not required in the house and garden, a water supply system from the Trotec TGP series can be used as an alternative water source to replace the mains water from the local supplier with free service water. Two facts make the difference:

  • In comparison with a garden pump, a domestic water supply system automatically switches on or off depending on how strong the water pressure is. The domestic water supply system has its own pressure control system, which allows the water to be supplied as quickly as possible without requiring a long pumping time.
  • A domestic water supply system is permanently installed and not readily transportable. A garden pump can be transported very easily, however.
