Trotec’s BG series gas detectors warn against dangerous carbon monoxide concentrations as well as leaks – back in stock

During incomplete combustion, carbonic materials such as coal, petrol and gas release odourless and tasteless carbon monoxide. And even a few breaths of the highly toxic gas can lead to death. Handling highly flammable gases such as natural gas and methane, ethane and propane is no less dangerous. Are gas cartridges, gas pipelines and liquid gas containers in your household or on your boat really sealed tight? So there are good reasons why the compact and reliable gas detectors from Trotec are finally back in stock again.

The BG20 professional carbon dioxide measuring device is one of the gas detectors which is now available again. The measuring device, which specialises in recording CO concentrations quickly and reliably, scores points with a memory for the last 10 measured values. The BG30 and BG40 measuring devices also reliably detect combustible gases such as natural gas, methane, ethane, propane, butane, hexane, ethylene, acetaldehyde, formaldehyde, toluene, p-xylene, acetone, alcohol, benzene, ammonia, steam, carbon monoxide, petrol and hydrogen sulphide. Perfect for regularly checking gas cartridges and liquid gas containers as well as gas pipelines and fittings for their tightness. Thanks to their gooseneck probes they are also able to detect and identify a leak in hard-to-reach and confined areas.

All the benefits at a glance:

  • The BG20 carbon monoxide measuring device

reliably records CO values between 0 and 1,000 ppm. The values are displayed on the large, backlit display and are easily legible up to ± 10 ppm. In addition, the last ten measured values can be saved directly in the BG20. From 35 ppm, the device alerts you automatically with a tone which sounds at increasingly short intervals the higher the concentration rises, and which is issued as a continuous warning tone from 200 ppm. The alarm limit value can be individually adjusted, depending on the measurement being carried out.

  • The BG30 gas detector

signals the intensity and source of the leaking gas by means of the acoustic alarm with increasing frequency and volume. The continuously adjustable sensitivity controller enables individual calibration. To prevent interference noises, external headphones can be connected to the device. With 10% LEL, the BG30 is more sensitive than the arithmetically required alarm threshold in many standards or regulations. LEL stands for Lower Explosion Level and defines the minimum gas concentration in the air at which an explosion is possible. The measuring device is equipped with a semi-flexible, 40 cm long gooseneck probe for examining areas which are difficult to reach.

  • The BG40 gas detector

warns with a sensitivity of <10 ppm even from the lowest gas concentrations by means of an optical, acoustic and vibration alarm. The acoustic alarm signals an increasing intensity of the leaking gas with increasing frequency and volume. It also detects areas with a 40 cm long and flexible gooseneck probe and is equipped with a backlit LCD display on which the measured ppm values can be read quickly and easily, even in unfavourable lighting conditions. The measuring device shows the Lower Explosion Level in % on the display. The so-called Lower Explosion Level, abbreviated as LEL, defines the minimum gas concentration in the air at which an explosion is possible. The device also comes with a comfortable tripod socket.
