Trotec adviser: Five tips for effective heat protection around the house

Does your indoor thermometer register a rise in temperature every day? Then it’s high time for effective counteractive measures before your house or flat transform into an oversized sauna. Because once the heat is trapped in all rooms, it takes a lot of effort to lower the room temperature again. With our five tips for effective heat protection, you can keep your living quarters pleasantly cool – and also make your home ‘heat-proof’ for next summer.

Tip no. 1: Shading windows in the roof and in the facade

The quickest way the heat enters your home is through the windows in the roof and in the facade. So the first thing you should do is block these heat gateways. The most effective way to achieve this is by using external roller shutters or venetian blinds, which reduce the sun’s radiation by up to 75 percent. Venetian or pleated blinds attached to the inside of the windows also provide shading, but their cooling effect is much lower.

Tip no. 2: Needs-based automatic shading control

Use external roller shutters and venetian blinds effectively by making the often tedious act of closing them automatic. Light, temperature and weather sensors ensure that the roller shutters are closed and opened according to your needs: These are closed during hot periods and then automatically opened for ventilation when it gets cooler, as appropriate.

Tip no. 3: Cool feel-good temperatures thanks to efficient air conditioning units

Modern and affordable air conditioning units let you achieve cool and pleasant feel-good temperatures in the entire house with great ease. Thanks to energy-saving technology, power consumption is kept to a minimum, and in night mode, the devices operate as quietly as a whisper – just two of the many reasons why Trotec’s brand quality devices are purchased and operate continuously without complications.

Find out about our PAC series comfort air conditioning units, such as the mobile PAC 2300 X and the PAC 3500 X. Of course, we also offer split air conditioning units, a device with a split internal and external unit, such as the PAC 4600. It is worth taking a look at our diverse, affordable range because at Trotec you will always find the right mobile air conditioning unit.

Tip no. 4: Consistently switch off all additional heat sources

With running televisions and computers, other activated electronic devices as well as lighting, people use numerous hidden heat sources all over the house. You should consistently switch off all those energy guzzlers currently not in use – because, apart from being responsible for increased energy costs, they are also responsible for rising temperatures in your living quarters.

Tip no. 5: Good insulation is the best heat protection

There is almost no alternative to Roof insulation or Loft insulation for effective heat protection. Because good insulation prevents heat from getting into the house. For the most effective heat protection, be sure to choose the right insulating material with the highest possible gross density. You will also profit from a major year-round benefit: You reduce temperatures in the summer and heating costs in the winter.
