BZ30 CO₂ Air Quality Data Logger: ‘CO₂ traffic light’ and acoustic warning signal indicate when ventilation is needed in cold rooms.

As advised by renowned epidemiologists, consistent ventilation of rooms helps to minimise the risk of corona virus infection. The BZ30 CO₂ air quality data logger, which is finally available again, provides a reliable indication of when it is time to open wide windows and doors in schools and offices. Like a CO₂ traffic light, the device shows the current CO₂ concentration at a glance and thus also demonstrates the potentially increased risk of infection due to a lack of fresh air. It also warns the user with an unmissable acoustic signal.

CO₂ concentrations significantly or consistently greater than 1,000 ppm indicate insufficient ventilation – and a potentially increased risk of corona virus infection. The BZ30 air quality data logger can be used to reliably monitor air quality in classrooms and kindergartens or in offices and production environments with regard to CO₂ concentrations plus humidity and temperature values. Simultaneous recording of these values also enables optimum control of ventilation behaviour. The additional symbolic CO₂ indicator display, similar to a CO₂ traffic light, ensures safety at a glance. The BZ30 also has a carbon dioxide alarm function with a warning signal for limit values which you can set yourself. This is your last warning to cry out: “Open the window!”

Here’s how it works

The large backlit display of the BZ30, with its easy-to-read measurement display allows the CO₂ value, room temperature, humidity, date and time to be displayed simultaneously. The CO₂ air quality data logger also has a large data memory for 50,000 measures values for long-term recording, with intervals that you can choose yourself, starting from 1 second to 12 hours. The recorded data can be conveniently transferred to a connected PC using the fast USB connection, where it can be evaluated and logged using the analysis software included in the scope of delivery.

BZ30 − CO₂ monitoring for suggested ventilation

A CO₂ concentration of up to 1,000 ppm indicates hygienically adequate air flow under normal conditions. Even at a CO₂ value of only 1,500 ppm, the ability to concentrate decreases noticeably and headaches, fatigue and even drowsiness can set in. For values above 1,000 ppm, the room should be ventilated so that the values are once more in the 400-500 ppm range. In light of this, the BZ30 CO₂ air quality data logger supplies reliable references whether, when and above all also how long a ventilation is necessary. However, the installation of a CO₂  sensor does not mean that a CO₂ concentration of less than 1,000 ppm will fundamentally protect you from being infected with corona virus. This is because a connection between CO₂ concentration and viral load does not exist.

BZ30 – an important indicator for necessary ventilation measures

Increased concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO₂) in the room air are a sure indicator that it is about time to change the air. Therefore, if necessary, you can improve the indoor climate by supplying fresh air or by effectively using air purifiers, humidifiers or dehumidifiers.

  • Load and support

With the BZ30, you no longer have to constantly worry about when it’s time for the next ventilation. This allows you to concentrate better on your lessons or work.

  • Better protection against infection

By airing the room in good time, you can avoid excessive aerosol particle pollution of indoor air.

  • Consistent performance

You are always up-to-date on CO₂ content, fine dust particles and pollen particles in the indoor air, so you can ventilate to counteract tiredness, chronic coughing or allergic reactions.
