In large-scale operations such as the accident in Strépy-Bracquegnies, Belgium, where a vehicle crashed into the crowd at a Carnival event on Sunday, every second counts when it comes to medical care for the injured. 
The concern about the possible increase in the number of corona cases at any time forces many towns and districts to set up makeshift hospitals. The aim is to expand capacity limits in order to ensure the care of Covid-19 patients. The district of Verden in the north of Germany is a good example of forward-thinking action from a responsible administration. Within a few days, the district administration installed a makeshift hospital in a container village in its parking lot, ready for occupancy.
