Serious accidents involving combustible gases such as natural gases, methane, ethane and propane happen time and again. Because even small leaks of combustible gases can have severe consequences, you should always have a measuring device like the BG40 gas detector<\/a> on hand wherever combustible gases are stored or used. With the new compact detector, you can regularly and easily test the leakproofness of gas cartridges and liquid gas tanks at\u00a0 home or on a boat, as well as gas pipes and valves. Thanks to its high degree of sensitivity, the BG40 detects even the smallest gas leaks with a quick reaction time of less than two seconds \u2013 and provides a warning with a sensitivity of <10 ppm even from the lowest gas concentrations using optic, acoustic and vibration alarms. The acoustic alarm signals increasing intensity of the leaking gas through increasing frequency and volume.<\/p>\n

This is how it works<\/h3>\n

The BG40<\/a> reliably detects combustible gases such as natural gas, methane, ethane, propane, butane, hexane, ethylene, acetaldehyde, formaldehyde, toluene, p-xylene, acetone, alcohol, benzene, ammonia, steam, carbon monoxide, petrol and hydrogen sulphide. The 40 cm long and flexible hose sensor detects leaks, even in hard-to-reach areas. The gas detector is fitted with a backlit LCD display, from which you can read the measured ppm values quickly and easily at any time, even in bad lighting. The Lower Explosion Limit (LEL) in % is also shown on the display, this defines the minimum concentration of gas in the air at which an explosion is possible.<\/p>\n
