Basically, both air conditioning units contain a small air-to-air heat pump. In cooling mode, this pump transports the heat out of the room into the open air, where it is released again via a heat exchanger. This principle also works the other way round. In this case, the hear is drawn in outdoors and released indoors as warm air. Classic heat pumps extract heat from the ground and then use it to heat the living space. With air-to-air heat pumps, the heat is extracted from the air so that less energy has to be used for heating.<\/p>\n

And that pays off:<\/strong> Depending on the outside temperature, considerably less electrical energy has to be used to heat the room to a comfortable temperature.<\/p>\n
