Reading the product description of some Peltier dehumidifiers (also known as semiconductor, electric or mini dehumidifiers), you are lead to believe that these devices can work wonders, rendering compressor devices redundant in many areas of application. However, doubt then soon creeps in when, weeks after having made your proud purchase, your damp cellar refuses to dry out and mould thrives despite the Peltier dehumidifier.<\/p>\n

Myth 6: \u2018\u2019The compact electric dehumidifiers can be flexibly placed in the living room, bedroom, kitchen or bathroom to keep them dry\u2019\u2019<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Depending on the type of use, additional moisture is brought into your rooms every day. More humid outdoor air also likes to mix with indoor air if it is drier. Experts refer to this as internal and external moisture load.<\/p>\n

Through their presence alone (skin evaporation, breath), each person brings almost 1,000 ml of additional moisture into the room air, each potted plant another 48 ml. Cooking and washing up quickly add 700 ml, showering adds 300 ml \u2013 and that’s for each individual person.
