More than 400,000 people in the European Union die prematurely each year from complications from air pollution. This is the conclusion of a recent report published in Copenhagen by the European Environment Agency (EEA), which analyses data on environmental impacts on the health and well-being of Europeans. According to the study, air pollution in Europe continues to be the greatest environmental threat to health. In second place is noise pollution, which leads to 12,000 premature deaths of EU citizens.
