Elena Kramer
Elena – what am I going to tell you about her? Well, she is Creative Director of the Blog, you could say. With tireless effort and passionate dedication she is on a constantly chase for new topics and information to turn into one of her witty, well-researched and entertaining articles. She also never fails to give helpful advice and creative ideas to all the other blog authors. She graduated in the field of American studies and economics and here at Trotec she is part of the Social Media Team. Aside from the blog she is also in charge of various Twitter accounts and other Social Media tools. Her English and Spanish language skills which she recessed during her time abroad in Australia and Mexico proved to be very beneficial for her work here at Trotec. Grown up in Dortmund and relocated to Heinsberg recently, she now likes to get to know her new hometown and discover the beauty of the Rhineland …

Sarah – part of the social media team and probably one of the best organized people in the whole company. Though she is responsible for various social media accounts in a variety of countries, she never loses track of what is going on and where. A fully qualified bank business management assistant plus a studied economist, she is predestined for everything having to do with numbers. Luckily, this doesn’t stop her from devising the most creative campaigns or writing beautiful texts for our blog and other online communication channels. Apart from social media, there is one thing she is really excited about: The fifth season, as people in the Rhineland call their beloved carnival. When February is near, you can be sure that she is already awfully busy training for the big performance with her dance group. Like I said: she is creative through and through …
Christoph Thielen
Christoph – studied construction engineering at the RWTH Aachen University and started working at VDL, our service division, in 2001. From the beginning he was one of the leading persons here to help establish the SDS department (Structure Diagnostic Services) and therefore is the head of this department today. As an engineer he is fascinated by any tricky and difficult task and loves to find solutions for those kind of problems. For all the readers of our blog who share his passion of solving tricky problems he writes about all his exciting hands-on cases. He’s your man for everything that involves metrology, leak detection, thermography and structural diagnostics – firsthand from the expert.

Alfred – he is an old hand at creative writing. He started working for Trotec a couple of years ago as a language coach, but with his natural sense for writing unique and charming texts he soon started to contribute various articles – not only for the blog but also for our English websites. Although as a freelancer he spends a lot of time working from home, he quickly evolved into being an essential member of the Trotec marketing team. We wouldn’t want to miss his unparalleled sense of British humour which – often sarcastic, but always uplifting – never fails to make us laugh. Being an Englishman born and bred, he assures us that he loves good British food … And he swears that thisis not meant to be sarcastic at all …
Anke – a real stroke of luck for our team. Poached from her former department, the customer service center, where she acquired a broad knowledge about the company and its products, she now supports our online marketing team with her knowledge. Although she happened to end up in our team in an indirect way, the marketing stuff seems to really run in her blood. She contributes wonderful texts – not only for the blog – and is in charge of putting our products in perspective on various e-commerce portals. But beyond that she surely has more to offer … a lot more! Singing for example – just throw in a single word and you’ll get a stage-ready performance in smoothest mezzo-soprano. Dancing is another passion of hers – as a member of an acrobatic performance group, she entertains the audience with bold and heart-stopping moves. But above all she is able to laugh about herself and to put everyone in good humour… And this is a very precious talent!
Pascal started working for VDL as an intern in 1997 and has remained with the company until today – you could say he is a permanent fixture. He graduated in the fields of international trade and marketing and currently is the head of the SDS (Structure Diagnostic Service) division for the Dutch market. He is responsible for all kind of measurements and he made it his mission to spread the word about his fascinating and eventful job – preferably by contributing interesting articles to our blog. In his spare time he loves to fly his Cesna 172 to recharge his batteries and find new inspirations…
Jessica – or as she prefers it: Jess – joined us a couple of months ago, after she finished her apprenticeship as an industrial management assistant. As a “Señorita Español” she is always a real live wire – not only when she’s on stage dancing the Flamenco – but also in the office where she attends to the Spanish market. With high spirits and the typical “Latin temperament” she takes care of everything that’s related to marketing and customer service and brings a breath of fresh air into the office. And this is a quality that both, customers and colleagues, highly appreciate …

Adrian started working for Trotec in summer 2010 and it has been his job to develop and take care of the Polish market. In the past he had worked in various positions in the finance and insurance sector before he studied economics in Poland. Here at Trotec he finally found the perfect job: as kind of an intermediary between Germany and Poland, he is able to work close with both cultures and the variety and diversion of his job elates him every day anew. And you can feel this enthusiasm in each and every one of his blog articles …
As a skilled translator, Cecilia has been part of the company for a couple of years by now. In the beginning she used to work from her old home Sicily, but then she decided to move to Germany to support the company in the French speaking market. Blogging, texting and everything that belongs in the field of Public Relations she handles with a huge portion of charm and enthusiasm. She sometimes gets so overly excited that we are worried about her blood pressure, but of course we are very pleased that she seems to feel so passionate about her job. To recover from the business stress, at the weekend she enjoys the best pizza in the world – in her husband’s restaurant. Well, I guess now we know where she gets all that power from …

Probably everyone here at Trotec knows Hilal – and that’s because wherever she shows up or whom she is working with, her high spirits brightens up your day. With her open and light-hearted attitude she usually gets what she wants and so she always has a lock on her work. In cooperation with our Turkish colleagues in Istanbul she is responsible for everything in the field of online marketing concerning the Turkish market. Although sometimes old sales habits come to the surface from deep down her personality, she seems to like the more creative side of marketing. And this you can definitely notice when you read her inspiring blog articles …
Last but definitely not least Christoph: the system administrator of this blog and so to speak the man behind the scenes. As a long lasting employee of the company and with his wealth of experience he never loses track of all online as well as offline activities. Not only his fish actually listen to him, also in the office his advice is much valued. And although he is involved in everything which is related to web development and software engineering, his true passion is the Trotec blog (maybe with a little exception: his infatuation for liquorice)…
